My Blog

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8 - NLT

Couple of months back one of our staff was sent home under displinary action, it displeased us and displeased the Lord what the person had done. In the Bible we read several times where it is mentioned about how the certain decisions and certain actions, motives and words were displeasing to the Lord.

God gets displeased with us, sometimes we get displeased with God when things don't happen according to our desire.

I would like to connect this pleasing  and displeasing the Lord with the fear of God and continue:

Bible says Fear of God is a Treasure

Isaiah 33:6 KJV 6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.

Blessed is everyone that feareth the Lord

Psalms 128:1 KJV 1 A Song of degrees. Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

In the Old Testament the word that is used for FEAR is YARE which means Terror, Reverence

In the New Testament the word is used for FEAR is PHOBOS which means Flight, Dread, Terror

If we have to bring it down to conclusion in the context it will be REVERENCE

How do you show reverence to someone in human terms. Your behaviour is different. You are aware of that person, who that person is.
